Wow, it seems like a long time since I last sat down to write this newsletter… but it was just last week?!
Time is an interesting thing. For most of us, it seems to fly by faster as we grow older, because we have less and less new experiences and therefore less distinctive memories... But life doesn’t have to be like that.
Be sure to step out on a ledge and try something new this week 😉.

Monday, Sept 16

🚎 Discover Lagos & around on free bus rides! 
This week is European Mobility week, and aims to encourage you to use more sustainable modes of transport. So, all week the Lagos public bus system (Onda) will be free! Just jump onboard without a ticket and discover the area. There are 10 lines.

🚶🏽Beach Walks in remote tidal spots
September is a great month for hiking in the Algarve. Explore the western coastline and remote spots on a guided 3hr walk. Suitable for all levels. Includes (≈30 min) car ride from Lagos to the starting point (and return ;).

An amazing selection of international street Artists have been working on murals and works for this exhibition in the past weeks. On Saturday all will be revealed with the exhibition opening and DJ sets. Definitely worth checking out!

🎭 FEMEN
A contemporary circus performance, new magic and physical theatre. With a poetic tone and sarcastic humour, “Femen” reflects on the frameworks that define identity and questions the sedimentation of gender.

🪴 Plant pot mosaics with vinho Verde and sharing platters
Sitting under the carob tree with a glass of cold wine and a selection of yummy nibbles, use the stained glass pieces to create a mosaic pattern on a Terracotta pot.

Sunday, Sept 22

📚 Offline day
Apparently its offline day, all day today. Globally, people will bury their phones for 24 hours. Think you “can’t”? You need it? Why not try. Take a break from social media and talk to people in real life, read a paper book, be creative. I’m sure whatever you think is stopping you can actually wait. It’s Sunday after all! Your metal health will thank you.

🚗 European Car free day 
Part of the Mobility week, Sunday will offer:
- 🚲 a free bike tour (BYO bike). Meet at 9:30 at the Footbridge. There are two routes with different levels of difficulty. Suitable for all ages (children too).
- and the Tourist train will be available to carry you around town from 10–17:00 (exc. at lunch 13–14). From Lagos Marina to Ponta da Piedade, all aboard! 🚂

🚘 Old car exhibition
Very ironically, on car-free day, the council is also putting on a display of vintage Jaguar cars🤷‍♀️. 10–16:00 | free | at Praça do Infante
